overwhelmed

I am overwhelmed by how behind I am on posting.  I have tons of pictures to post but I want to add witty commentary to make it more interesting - therein lies the problem...I'm not witty, have no time to try and fake witty and so I just don't post.


It's boring to look at someone else's pictures and not have an exciting story or funny caption to read but I got nothing.  I have no desire to think or write but I have lots to share.  So you're getting pictures and some sorry little commentary.  That's it.  Don't complain.  You can take it or leave it.

helloooooo, anyone there?

We're here, we're here.  I sat at the computer today and realized how long it had been since I posted to the blog or caught up on other people's blogs/websites.  It hadn't seemed that long but I guess I've been a bit MIA.

So I'm off to download some photos to see if there is anything blog worthy to post about.  

Busy is the only way to describe it

I'm busy, really busy.  It won't be for long - just a few more weeks but until then the blogging suffers.  I'll be back so don't wander off too far.

yeah, yeah, we're alive (but just barely)

Life has been a bit hectic around here.  We have had baby blessings (no, not our own) family in town, multiple Disneyland trips, bathroom remodeling decisions, etc.  It has all been fun (with one exception, more on that in a minute) but it has kept us busy.

Now the exception...

Derek's cousin Renee was here visiting from Utah with her kids - Josh, Tanner & Michelle (nice kids, or so I thought)  We spent some time with them at Disneyland a couple days ago and we were having a great time until Tanner forced me, physically I might add, to ride California Screamin'  I can't even begin to tell you how much I did not want to go on this ride but there I was strapped in to the beast with my heart pumping.  Tell me how an 18 year old has the power to get a much older and wiser person to do something against her will?!?!?

Stepping off the ride I was a bit unstable and it took me some time to get my stomach feeling better but I survived.  The coaster did not jump the tracks and I did not plummet to my death - all positives in my book.  

Although I'm glad I survived it doesn't change the fact that I did not find any enjoyment on the ride. I am sure Tanner, Michelle, Garin (my little brother) and Megan all found immense enjoyment at my expense so I guess I'll chalk it up to taking one for the team.

I was wishing I had been at Disneyland with Renee's sister Deanne...if my memory serves me I believe she pays people to get them to ride California Screamin'. $20 would have made the ride a little bit better.

a little blog catch up

My roadshow recovery program is moving along so I finally have a bit of energy and am able to download photos and update the blog.  It helps that Nathan is home from school today unable to move his leg without a bunch of pain so I am pretty much confined to home except for a trip to the doctor this afternoon.

This is why there is a serious lack of posts - life is basically revolving around road shows.  They are next Friday and Saturday and we are crossing our fingers that life at the Baker home returns to normal.

will someone down load my pictures?

I have no desire to spend the time downloading pictures. I realize it doesn't take long but for whatever reason I am just not motivated to do it. So pictures from our trip, Christmas, New Year's etc. still sit sad and lonely in my camera. I will try to convince myself to take care of it this week but I make no promises.

If you are feeling sad at the serious lack of pictures on this blog let me direct your attention to this post Here you will be able to get a glimpse of the wonderful man that I married. It should fulfill your desires to see pictures of the family (at least for the time being) Yes, it's pictures, like the one in the above mentioned post, that make me remember why I married Derek in the first place.

So I'm thinking that the 4 people that normally read this blog have probably given up because of a serious lack of posts. It's Halloween people and that means that life is busy here so please cut me some slack and stay with me. I promise to get back into the grove as soon as the holiday festivities slow down here.

With that being said I thought I would share some pictures of the invitations I just finished up for our Halloween party. You can check them out on our SmugMug page. I had to post this picture of the kids though - I love it! The kids hand delivered the invites for us dressed like this. They did their own make-up and where genuinely good sports about going to so many homes.

I need your help. I have been asked to teach a blogging class for the women at church. Not sure why, as evident by my lack of posts lately, I am not the best blogger out there. Anyway, here is what I need...
