I apologize to all the older mothers

When my kids were all younger and I was constantly feeling tired and overwhelmed with toddlers and babies ruling my life I use to get a little perturbed by older, wiser moms that would tell me to enjoy it now because they grow up to fast, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Now Megan is 14 and getting ready to leave middle school and venture into the world of high school.  Why oh why didn't I listen to all those moms?!?!  She and her friend McKenzie are off at the 8th grade dance tonight. As I was taking pictures I got a bit emotional because she seems so grown up.  In 4 years she'll be off to college and I will be wishing for my toddlers and babies.

Is it only my kids that go nuts when they start to hear the mind altering ice cream truck music?

farewell concert

Tuesday night was Emily's last choir concert of the school year.  She has enjoyed her time in choir and has had a great time learning new songs and performing.

The day after her concert (Wednesday) she spent the day at Knott's Berry Farm where the choir got to perform in the morning and then hang out for the day and ride rides.  Emily is not an "I love scary rides kinda gal" so her riding time was limited but she still had fun.

tenderloin sounds ok (in the daytime)

I ran across this article this morning and just knew I had to post it.  In the name of fairness I couldn't just post the negative without also posting the positive of my beloved Tenderloin.

It is heart warming to read about good people striving to make a difference.

any blog readers from utah?

I saw this post this morning on my cousin Deanne's blog and thought I would help her get the word out.  If anyone is looking for some fun summer concerts just check out the line-up here.

just for kari

Friday night we had a church activity...a Hawaiian luau. Entertainment was by Le Polynesia. The drummer in the group is in our ward.  We enjoyed good food and fun entertainment. We all enjoyed ourselves until Erik (the drummer from our ward) started calling a few men up to perform at & at that point I think Derek quit enjoying himself :)

We all got a good laugh watching some of the men of our ward perform.  In my opinion Derek's hula'ing skills were far superior but I realize others (namely the other wives of dancers) might feel differently.
